Dear diary

I bought myself a journal the other week. I hadn't kept a personal diary for more than a year, but recently I've had a hankering to write in one again. It's basically for my complaining, whining, ranting and raving that none of you would particularly enjoy reading on this blog (I have a lot of feelings, okay!). I can already tell I'll be embarassed to re-read everything a few years down the track. As you can see from the pictures, it's got this fold-over flap thing, and you can close it up with a string. It's not particularly functional, because there's really not much point to the complicated cover, but I like it because it feels different. I also really love the unlined pages. It was $10 from Typo (because I'm cheap).

Also, this marks my 50th post. I feel like I've done so many more, I'm afraid I don't update enough!

  1. I've a diary too but I STILL write in it as though I know someone's going to read it, haha. Way too scared to properly let go and release all my crazy emotions into writing... (not sure I'd want to!) x

  2. I love books when they are all new and fantastic like that!

  3. Oh, and such a beautiful book to keep your thoughts in! I am exactly like you -- I need to spill my thoughts somewhere, as they are simply too versatile and will disperse at inconvenient times. I hope you are well, xxx

  6. Oh your diary looks so sleek and lovely. I've kept written diaries for about 9 years now, but more recently I write a list about each day, I have such a list obsession. (:

  7. I kept journals since I was 13. I stopped writing in them a couple of years ago because I discovered blogging! Also, they're dangerous - they can be found in the wrong hands, AKA your mom.

I like the way it looks but yes, I agree doesn't look too functional.

This is a nice diary... I've never seen it there though, but then again I haven't gone to the shops in a while.

  12. Oh, I love fresh new dairies/notebooks/things. The smell, the feel and the complete blank-ness. I think I might start doing that sometime again too, as I would otherwise put everything on my blog or tumblr. Hehe.

And hurrah(!!!) to your 50th post! :D

  15. I don't keep a diary and I never have (not for more than a month in the summer holidays anyway). You've kind of made me want to buy one and start- I'm partially using my blog as a sort of diary for me to look back at in 10 years time, but for some reason I still feel as if I can't vent out fully as if somebody might find it that I don't want to xD You take lovely photos too! :)

  17. how exciting to start a small diary of your everyday personal conversations. i know what you mean, i find old entries difficult to read and often embarrassing as well. you will need to keep it in a safe place too!

typo is great by the way. they finally brought it over to la, and i still buy the small snake-printed calendar diaries they have. great buys x

  20. I love things like this - I collect stationary so i just go in to the shops sometimes to buy a new pad for no reason. As you can see from my latest post, I did this again last week. I bought 4! I think I have a stationary addiction problem. (ps. Happy 50th post! Here's to many more!) x

  22. The diary looks beautiful. And I know what you mean, I always get the urge to note down stuff and thoughts. I started (well "planned") to do a 365 but it failed after the third month. And haha, you're so much different to me! I would refuse to write on paper which isn't lined - OCD attack D:

  26. This is gorgeous! Such a nice idea to have an outlet like this. I love filling these out, keeping them then looking back on them after a year or so. It's amazing the things you forget.
