Bay Vista

Last Saturday Janet (update your blog, woman) and I went on one of our food adventures, to make up for the fact that I had to pass on her birthday drinks (I wasn't confident about navigating a crowded bar on crutches). It's becoming our tradition to drive to somewhere in our general area, rather than meet in the city. We first hit up Harry's Cafe de Wheels for my favourite pies, and then we went down to Bay Vista, a dessert restaurant in Brighton-Le-Sands which Janet had heard good things about.

We shared one of the ice-cream bowls. I'm not sure if the scale is conveyed in the picture, but the bowl (I keep typing "bowel") was almost as big as my head. This had chocolate ice cream, caramel ice cream, honeycomb and nuts.

Right in front of the beach. Since this place is relatively local, I can see myself making my way down there a lot more... I have my eye on the rocky road ice cream bowl, and maybe waffles or pancakes when winter hits.

I know I've been a bit half hearted on the blogging front lately. I've been pretty preoccupied with my knee, which is healing rather slowly. I know I keep banging on about the knee but it's seriously constantly at the forefront of my mind! The other day I threw myself a pity party and spent about an hour googling things like "what's wrong with my knee" while crying. I'm seeing the orthopaedic specialist next week, crossing my fingers that I've been worrying about nothing!

  1. OH MY GOSH. That ice cream is out of this world!! Cue food coma, haha.

And I really do hope that your knee gets better! Focus on recouping! It's never any fun to be in that situation, and there's nothing wrong with being distressed about it. Fight on! :)

  5. I think I can sort of imagine the size of that bowl in my head haha, it looks delicious though! And I always type "bowel" instead of bowl and shamelessly go back to delete the e.

Don't worry, I do the same thing. Google solves most problems but sometimes it makes it worse. I hate not knowing what's wrong with me, I think I'm too much of a control freak. I hope everything is fine with your knee and good luck with the orthopedic specialist! x

  10. That icecream looks delcious, definitely something I'd love if out with a pal or two. Honeycomb as got to be one of my favourite combo with icecream... drooling!

It's awful having a leg injury. I remember in secondary school my friend was in and out of hospital with hers that she injured playing football. Whenever I'm ill I do a google synopsis rather than going to the doctors first and 95% of the time it's some deathly disease when really it's a water infection etc.. haha so definitely go to a doctor as looking online can make you worry even more! Really hope you get better soon!

  15. That ice cream looks amazing! The rocky road one sounds delicious and is right up my street! Oh so very jealous of ice creams by the sea. Sorry to hear your knee still isn't better! I hope you can get some answers too, if it makes you feel a tiny bit better I started the C25K app as well now and at week 3 day 1 I failed entirely, it appears I can't jog for 3 full minutes haha. Sending love and positive thoughts tour way

  26. oh god that ice cream looks amazing!! i'm going to have to track this place down, we seem to eat at a lot of the same places so i'm sure this one is great too. also i hope your knee starts getting better soon! i'm sure seeing a specialist will help at least put your mind at ease, they should be able to give you some strengthening exercises, etc at least to help it get back to normal!

  30. stay away from google woman! my dad fell off a ladder recently and broke his arm, and after spending 4 hours on google he went from knowing his arm was broken to just KNOWING he has some rare form of cancer. Enter eye roll here. Haha I'm sure your poor knee is fine, and I'll keep my fingers crossed that your visit will go easy as pie!

Speaking of pie (like my segue there, eh, eh?), I love how the birthday outing had everything to do with deserts. You tow are my kinda ladies.
