On brunch

Like I've said before, brunch is hard for me. By the time I've rolled out of bed, dressed, and put my face on, I'm starving, so it's not really enjoyable to travel for half an hour before I get to eat. I feel like it would only work if you're brunching within 5 minutes of home. If I eat beforehand, would it still be brunch? Or just an early lunch? Obviously, these thoughts keep me up at night.

Before we went for some gift shopping today, Wai Lam and I got our energy up by ducking down to Pancakes on the Rocks at Darling Harbour. I was super excited for the gigantic hashbrown, but it turned out to be really greasy. It did keep me full for the rest of the day, so job done.

  1. Sweet and savoury looks kinda strange together but still looks yum! And extra grease is never needed but at least it kept you full, hehe xx

  4. Looks like an amazing breakfast. There is this place I used to go to that served amazing midnight breakfast and I would go there so often with my friends. I usually don't wake up early enough for breakfast ahahaha.

  6. It only takes you half an hour to get to the city? Yesterday, I dragged myself up to the city to meet up with friends for lunch, it was an hour and a half trip one way. I think brunch is just meal that you eat before lunchtime. Wait, since breakfast is the first meal of the day, if I wake up at 12 and I have something to eat at 12:30 would that be lunch or breakfast?

    1. I don't know! Maybe it would depend on whether or not you intend to eat another meal before dinner??

  12. I used to have your problem, but I think I have conditioned myself to be a bruncher; most days I only eat a big brunch and a big dinner as my main meals!

  18. Being starving always make my mood swings (it's not good). Beside the traffic in my city is quite insane, I think breakfast is like the only and best option that left for me.

  20. haha i don't think a light snack would cancel out the brunchness. i personally LOVE lunch. how can you hate a meal where you can basically eat dinner and breakfast foods at once? that's a win in my book ;)

  22. Brunch is my favourite thing to eat in the whole world, it's like an excuse to have breakfast and dessert in one go. I'm a sucker for hashbrowns and the idea of a giant hashbrown is like a dream. Shame it was just greasy.

  23. brunch is hard for me too. I rarely want to eat before 10 and I don't want to be stuffed all day or feel greasy or too sugary....maybe brunch for dinner would be nice? or dessert? yes, that's a good compromise.

  25. Sorry you got scarred by the hash brown. Lunch or brunch, as long as it's delicious and stuffs you up, it's all good.
