Europe '13

And I'm back from Europe! Can't say I'm pleased about it though, because I was having such a good time over there. I have returned with a new taste for beer and glühwein (blame Germany), caramel macchiatos, and English breakfasts. I got back at 11am it's 3am now, but I'm still awake because I had an accidental jetlag nap in the afternoon.

I've got loads of photos to go through, so as usual here's a preview - one photo from each place we visited. In order - Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Munich, Neuschwanstein Castle, Paris, Oxford, London, Edinburgh (or hover over the photo for the caption).

Amsterdam
Berlin
Prague
Munich Neuschwanstein castle
Paris Oxford
London
Edinburgh
I hope everyone had a great holiday season. My travel buddy Wai Lam and I had our Christmas Eve dinner in our tiny Parisian flat with macarons and rosé with Love Actually on the TV, and then we rang in the new year shivering in the drizzle by the Thames.

Thanks for sticking around through all those scheduled posts! I'm going to have to sit down tomorrow and do a massive blogs catchup, accompanied by a box of seashell-shaped chocolates to help fend off the post-travel blues.

  10. Oh wow, it seems like you had such a wonderful time. Christmas Eve in Paris, oh my! Also, I absolutely loved Amsterdam when I visited over the summer. There's such a calm friendliness about the city and the people, not to mention all the bicycles! I felt thoroughly out of place there without one.

  20. Beautiful post, both your story and photos. I'd love to do "Tour d'Europe" some day.. Or outside Europe, since I've never been further away than Canary Islands :D All your destinations sound great and I'd love to visit all of them (although I've already crossed out Berlin and Paris from my list. But maybe a second round for them too.:)

Nice to hear that you loved your vacation so much. Australia would be a dream for me, European girl.
