Guac

I'm obsessed with guacamole at the moment. I hated avocado until a couple of months ago, never ordered anything with it, but then I just woke up one day craving guacamole. Since then I've turned into a complete guacamole fiend, I've probably made it about 5 times in the past three weeks. Coles keeps discounting avocados as well, which is giving me a good excuse.

I'm lazy so my guacamole is really simple - for every one avocado, I squeeze the juice of half a lime and use one clove of garlic. This makes it very garlicky though (which I like). If I have some, I also add a tablespoon of sour cream.

Mash it all together with a fork (or masher if you want to get serious).

Boom! All done, under 10 minutes (or under 5 if you're more adept at mincing garlic). I only make one avocado's worth at a time, because it doesn't keep for long (max 2 days in the fridge with very tight cling wrap).

  7. I don't like guacamole from a jar, but I love fresh guacamole, when the lime really bites!

  8. This looks so good! Even though I'm a freak for avocado, I've never gotten around to making guac. I absolutely love garlicky things too, so I'll definitely have to try this some day!

  9. I was very much the same too; I hated it as a child but then something just snapped and I've loved it ever since highschool. I stocked up on avos when there was the sale (they were so expensive before!) Looks very yummy!

  11. Guacamole might literally be my favourite thing in the world. Am certainly making some this weekend! I like to add finely chopped red onions and cherry tomatoes - does that turn it into a guac-salsa hybrid?! Hope you're doing well Jane!

  16. I love avocados! However, I'm not a huge fan of guacamole. I like to mix my avocado with milk! Makes for a great dessert :)

  17. I love guacamole, it's so good! But as much as I've tried to eat avocado on it's own with sea salt and balsamic glaze, I'm just not feeling it. The three things I'd love to (Eventually) enjoy are wine, olives and avocado - but my tastebuds won't allow it. I'm going to have to train myself to love it because it makes a nice healthy snack! x

  19. I also had mixed feelings related to avocado, specially because I could never tell when was ready to be eaten, but guacamole really made up my mind. It's the tastiest thing!
