Australia post hates me

Why did you buy two of the same cleanser and two compensating moisturisers Jane, I hear you ask. Well, I'd made my usual online skincare order (from the UK), but a month later, there was no sign of it, so I wrote it off as lost in the mail. At this point I was running on empty so I proceeded to buy the Effaclar at Priceline and ordered the Bioderma moisturiser off an Australian site (I couldn't find Effaclar H in Australia and I needed one quickly). And then the next day... guess what came in the mail.

Talk to me about skincare... and/or how the entire UK to Australia postal system is out to get you. Also don't forget to enter the giveaway, it's ending in a week!

  1. Oh no! But the upside is that you don't need to buy it for a while.

My skincare is sort of everywhere. I've been using the same face cleanser since I was 14 and I don't really know if it works for me because I haven't dared to branch out. It works most of the time so I stick to it. But I have heard amazing things about La Roche Posay, so I am tempted.

Things from the UK usually arrive relatively quickly for me but things from the US on the other hand are so unpredictable. I have received things sometimes within 7 days (via regular mail) or as long as 5 weeks.

    1. I guess I'm good for skincare for the next year or so! It's good that what you're doing now works for you, it's hard to get to that point. Yes I usually find UK parcels pretty timely so that's why I have up on this one! I never know when US parcels will come either, unless I've paid for tracked shipping. Why is everything so far away :(

  2. Perfectly acceptable! I have 4 cleansers I use, St. Ives scrub for acne, cleansing milk, regular cleaner and cream cleaner - it all depends on what is going on with my face. Even if their the same type, I think it's good to have different cleaners :)

    1. I use two right now, this one and the Lush 9 to 5 depending in what's on my face too. I guess I won't be branching out from effaclar anytime soon!

  3. Ugh that's really one of the downside of online shopping :c
But like Natalie ^ says, you don't need to buy a new
cleanser for a while :P Xx

    1. True and true! Hoping my skin doesn't have some sort of rebellion against this stuff...

  4. You must be very patience Jane, I get annoyed when things don't arrive within 3 days! I very rarely buy things overseas for that reason lol. The effaclar H is my favourite moisteriser, I always have a back up in my drawer!

    1. Haha you learn patience when you live in Australia... I should start doing backups.

  5. Ahh the postal service!
I always have issues with the post here in Belgium, mainly because places to sell stuff in Belgium because it's so small so I'm either going back to a UK website or I'm testing my luck with the German or Dutch... Google translate isn't so accurate at times and I'm always wary of buying something completely wrong haha.

    1. Ah, is Belgium one of the countries that a lot of stores don't ship to?

  6. Ugh. Australia Post. Enough said.

How are you liking the Effaclar set? I've been thinking of trying it out!

    1. Hmm the Effaclar seems to do what it says it does! I haven't branched out a lot in skincare so I can't really compare it to anything else :)

  10. I'm a big fan of stocking up because the postal system sucks in northern Canada, maybe even Canada in general. Do you like this stuff? I see it at the stores and it's pricey but in your opinion is it worth it? I am all for good products that make your skin feel amazing

    1. The La Roche Posay Effaclar stuff? I feel like they do what they say they do, I haven't tried a lot of different skincare so I can't really compare it to anything else. It hasn't made my skin freak out though!

  11. Poor you, that annoying mail :P
I don't really use much skin stuff, so I can't really recommend you anything ^^"

  12. Oh Australia Post! This happened with Estee Lauder we bought from America, but it came eventually! Apparently it had been sent to Chile by mistake!

    1. Chile! Haha your parcel was well travelled then

  13. You have the same problem too? I think there is some peculiarities - like a bermuda triangle of lost post between UK and Australia. It is so very frustrating!

  14. ugh, missing packages are the worst! sometimes when you contact the company you ordered from depending on how good their customer service is they might offer to send it to you again, but i guess it's too late now, and at least you're set up and don't have to buy more cleanser & moisturiser for a while!

    1. I contacted them, but they said they'd have to wait for 45 working days before they'd refund or resend (fair enough) but that would've been a month away and I was desperate! Haha

  15. I hear ya loud and clear, sista!

May I ask what Australian site you use for your Bioderma moisturiser?

    Cheers
