Thanks MCA for the lighting

Ezra dress (via The Iconic) / Wittner loafers.

Tonight/last night (i.e. I just came back from it and it's 2am) I went to a party with a "formal" dress code. Yes, I am that dedicated to blogging that I write posts straight away when I get home from parties (actually I'm just waiting for my hair to dry before I can throw myself into my beautiful bed). This is the dress I bought back in April. It's my chameleon dress, works for any occasion. The shoes are my old torturers, I loved them but I'd bought them a size too small so I don't wear them often anymore, but they seemed to go best with the dress (I refuse to wear heels to anything).

So my face is already going to be puffy tomorrow from the alcohol (in moderation) and then McDonalds we got on the way back (drive-thru, so classy), I shouldn't add to it with further sleep deprivation. I will reply to and return comments soon.

  1. Love the dress and I also hate high heels for any occasion! Hope you had a great night :)

    1. High heels are the worrrst, I don't foresee myself voluntarily wearing them for the rest of my life haha

    1. I guess that's the proper way to do it but I had to drive home!

  3. That's such a nice dress! Nothing beats a simple LBD, although I'm still yet to find the perfect one :)

    1. I felt like the LBD was overhyped but I guess everyone's right, it works for so many situations.

  4. Thats a nice dress! I have one in a similar cut, although probably a different material and I love how I can dress it up or down based on my accessories.

I think a Maccas's run is almost inevitable after a night out.

    1. Generally I enjoy the maccas run even MORE than the night out haha.

    1. I wore these around for a year hoping they'd stretch, and they destroyed my feet haha.

  7. Can't go wrong with a skater dress. Love that you don't conform to wear heels, you go girl!

    1. Love a good skater dress! If only I could walk in heels but there's no point in wearing shoes that are supposed to make you look better and then just end up sitting down all night.

  9. Hooray for your dedication! With alcohol in me my brain and body would be like stay away from Wordpress and go to bed! :)

    1. Just to clarify there was no more alcohol in my brain or body at the time of writing! That would've been terrible because I drove home.

    1. I guess that means you don't have to dither over what you're going to wear! I can see how it would be restrictive though.

  11. I love the shoes. I am guilty of having a few pairs that are one size two small... oops. I take two sizes depending on the shoe type and sometimes I get myself confused haha.

    1. I've realised I'm a very consistent size 39, now that I know I'm a 39! 39 is actually a tad too big for me but 38 is a squeeze and I'd rather size up than down for shoes (I've learned my lesson)

    1. I have so few things suitable for a nice dress code (and I wasn't about to buy a new dress) that it wasn't too tough haha!
