Biking in

Polo Ralph Lauren t-shirt / Glassons pants / Bass loafers.

Yesterday felt like a good day to have an awkward photoshoot with my bicycle, so here you go. I hadn't touched my bike all winter, but in the last few weeks I've been biking to placement as it's near to where I live. I'm still a bit clumsy on it, but I've worked out loafers are safe to wear, and trousers with a bit of stretch are best. I haven't tried wearing a skirt while riding it yet, I feel like the slightest gust of wind would mean a disaster...

I've been recovering from my illness this last week and I've spent most of it in bed, super lethargic. I'm getting dangerously used to browsing blogs while nestled in my blankets all day and taking afternoon naps, oops.

  1. Ahh you and me both. Sick in bed and taking so many naps I get a headache. I hope you're feeling better.

  2. Bike shorts! Or actually any shorts and then you can always just remove them :) well that is what I've seen people do. Or I guess time to whip out your midi skirt.

Oh no! Hope you feel better soon!

Funny bike story - I saved up to get a bike once. Got it. Returned it after two weeks because it dawned on me that I'll probably never use it xD

  8. Really glad to hear that you are on the upswing. Hopefully you will be feeling 100% in no time. Honestly, though, I can't think of a better way to spend being sick than surfing blogs ;)

Cute photos and not awkward at all. Love the outfit and your bike as well. Here in Berlin, bikes are quite popular. Many people (including me) have them in place of their cars. You will oftentimes see women riding in skirts and heels. You also see people biking and smoking at the same time (something that always amuses me) or walking their dogs while biking. One time, I even saw a man riding a bike, while guiding another bike with his left hand next to him ...

    rae of love from berlin

    1. That is my aim in life hahaha! I like how there's so much more of a bike culture in Europe. I can barely turn my head to check for cars without wobbling a little bit right now haha.

  11. I really love your outfit! I haven't ridden a bike in years, but it's definitely not easy to pick clothes that are both cute and functional to ride in. I don't know how the girls in street style pics do it, skirts and all...

    1. I am pretty clumsy too! I've technically known how to ride a bike since I was little but I'm still wobbling around corners hahaha.

  15. I think in the Netherlands we can bike with just about anything, not only in a sense of clothing, but with several people, groceries and so on!
    Get well soon :]

  16. I would be too scared to bike anywhere, except on a special cycling track. Your outfit is really nice. I hope that you will have fully recovered soon.

    1. We don'[t have many cycling tracks around here and I'm nervous biking on the road with cars as well. Sometimes I just go on the footpath!

  17. So glad you're back and feeling better! I love your bike, it' even has the dip for skirts. Amazing. I had the cutest bike when I lived in the Netherlands, with a basket, and this little seat on the back for my passengers. But now that I'm back in Canada, my bike is a boring old road bike. No cute basket or pretty green colour to be had. Hope you get in some fun seaside rides this summer

    1. I bought this kind of bike especially so I could wear a skirt but I haven't tried it yet! Aw I bet your road bike is more functional than this fat slow one haha.

  19. Get well soon! I wish I could cycle to placement but there are way too many hills around here! (Or I get accommodation at the hospital so don't need to haha).

    1. I don't know if I'd like to live at hospital, on one hand it'd be super easy, on the other I'd have no excuse not to show up to everything haha.

  21. Ah, I hope you feel better soon! And I actually used to bike in skirts. I found that wearing tights and skin hugging shorts under always made me feel more comfortable. Or I would wear longer skirts and do this weird sit on it/gather it under me in a ball thing, hahahaha.
