Sweat it out

Sweatshirt from UNIQLO / watch c/o Daniel Wellington / bad posture from too much time in front of the computer.

After a year or two of kind-of wanting a sweatshirt, I finally caved and bought one. The catalyst was seeing a sweatshirt with elbow patches on Tumblr, which set off some grand plans to DIY patches of my own. However, in typical fashion, I've now decided I'm too lazy to do so. I think this sweatshirt is supposed to be more relaxed in fit, but I sized down because I like a higher neckline, and now it's fitted enough so that I can wear it with nice trousers and nice shoes to try to pass it off as smart casual for placement.

I've been indulging in my wishlist too often lately, I really need to stop spending and save up. I have Big Plans for summer 2015/16 which are getting more ridiculous by the day; I will spill when I manage to finalise everything but it's going to involve a month in London next February (I'm doing an elective term there, which is like the medical student equivalent of exchange). I've been having a look at rent prices in London and let's just say I'm probably going to have to spend all four weeks in a 12 person dorm...

  4. I literally wear sweatshirts all the time. They're so comfy and easy! I have them embellished with rhinestones, with a gold dinosaur print, covered in flowers, etc. So many options!

  10. That sweatshirt is perfect! I wish I could hunt down a decent one, I'm far too picky about clothes than I should be. Spending time in London sounds like a lot of fun - good luck finding an affordable place!

  11. I cannot for the life of me find a jumper in this style that fits me ok... slouchy enough to be a boyfriend style, but fitted enough to not look like I'm hanging out in my dads on sweatshirt. Still love your watch every time!

  12. Ohhh, so envious of your time in London, even if it might be spent in a 12 person dorm. ;) I can't wait to see your photos and posts from The Big Smoke!

  21. Yes, I love buying fashionable yet super cozy sweatshirts. Man, the time you first get them, they're always sooo fuzzy on the inside and you never want to leave them. But if you ever get around to it, I think that adding elbow patches because it would be really really cute :) It would be a fun little chic thing to do.
And wow congrats on your gig in London! That sounds like an amazing opportunity. And 12-person dorm might seem intimidating but I really think that you'll end up liking it more than you think you will! Good luck :)

  25. You cannot beat a good sweatshirt. Inf act all the basic often overlooked things we wear - they are the good things! The cosy, reliable stuff that make us feel good no?

  26. Nice sweatshirt. You should check out H&M mens department, they sell nice ones as well. I think it's pretty cool what you're planning on doing this summer. I hope everything works out. :)

  27. Oh good god, I'm eternally grateful for having a place to stay in London thanks to having a relative there! We did rent some hotels for a few nights here and there while we were in the UK though, and DAMN, when you factor in the conversion rate, it's ridiculous. I'M EXCITE 4 U THOUGH AND THE RETURN OF TRAVEL POSTS.

  28. ahh, that's so exciting you're going to move to london for a bit!! i'm super jealous. i wish i'd taken more advantage of uni holidays to go travelling, i only went overseas once and then once again the year after i finished but i should have really taken advantage of having all that time off because you can travel as much as you like and you don't really get that any other time in life until you retire.
