It has been cold enough in Sydney lately to wear a scarf (aka the sarong I bought in Rio), and my wool winter coat purchase has finally been vindicated.
Yep, that's my major life update, because my life has been pretty uneventful lately. Sorry for tricking you into this post. I'm frustrated at how I haven't found the time to sit down to blog over the last month, even though I really don't have much other actual completed productive work to show for it. My one-week break has just ended and I'm not feeling well rested at all - I spent most of it scrambling to do things I've neglected, trying to fit in catch ups and working mornings because I really need more money.
I guess that can be my life update. The reason why I've been scrimping and scrounging this year is because I have big plans for this summer, which is when I'm doing my elective terms (like exchange for med students). I think I've mentioned I'm going to be in London in February, and now I've sorted out where I'm going in December - Arusha, Tanzania! In between I'm going to see a bit more of southern Africa, do a tour of Egypt (inspired by Jessica's visit last year) and spend a few weeks in Spain and Portugal. I'm also hoping to fit in a little bit of Scandinavia if I have the time (and possibly more importantly, money). I'm excited but I need to get through exams first - I'm leaving straight after them, might put a bit of a damper on things if I don't pass!

Exciting it must be! :] Good luck with your exams, I am sure you will pass!

Not sure if it's wanderlust or just aggressive bucket-list crossing out hahaha.
Deletethat's some traveling, surely major £££ needed?
ReplyDeleteBuckets & Spades
So much $$$ needed... I'm going to be dirt poor after I pay for all this.
DeleteSo cool that you will be visiting Europe! If you happen to be near Luxembourg, let me know.
ReplyDeleteWill do! Luxembourg would be interesting!
DeleteHey, getting a coat is a pretty big deal! And yay for traveling! I can't wait to see your updates :)
ReplyDeleteIt is, which is why I was so mad it was too warm to wear last year haha
DeleteI'm so jealous of you in coat season! I'm currently playing a dangerous game of how nearly-naked can one be at work because it's so humid and hot here. Super exciting to hear about your travel plans Jane! Sorely tempted to take a year out and bop over to the places on my bucket list every time I scroll through this pretty blog of yours (:
ReplyDeleteAh yes, I think I'd keep our cold front over that game!
DeleteGosh, I'm so jealous of all your travel plans! Sounds like all the scrimping will be worth it, hang in there :)
ReplyDeleteI hope so!! It's so abstract right now though so it's difficult to save for...
DeleteI broke out my coat today for the first time. I get to wear it roughly twice all year here in Brisbane!! Keep chugging away, the year is already half way gone so you'll be living your dream holiday in no time!
ReplyDeleteBrisbane weather! I love my coat so maybe I should move down to Melbourne.
Deleteis it wrong that i'm excited for your adventure? ugh good luck with exams! and stay warm!

ReplyDeleteYay! I'm so excited to see your 3rd home! It sounds awesome.
DeleteOh wow, your travel plans sound so exciting! I'm losing count of how many places you've visited! Best of luck with your exams, you've got through them before, I'm sure you will do brilliantly again!

Thanks Katrina :)
DeleteYour travel plans sound so exciting! I'm sure all the saving and scrimping will be well worth it on your trips. I think sometimes breaks from blogging are much needed so it doesn't turn a hobby into a chore. Or at least that's how I feel about it anyway.
ReplyDelete(unsure if this posted before, sorry if I commented twice!)

ReplyDeleteRight now we have planned: Barcelona, Madrid, Granada, Ronda and Seville! I'll be looking to you for travel ideas haha!
DeleteVisit the USA! You're so lucky to be traveling. I can't seem to find the time to do so, since my boyfriend is in grad school, and I'm working. I wish I had the funds to do so when I was studying still!
