December 30, 2017

Started the year off properly in chilly New York City.

Really learned how luxurious being able to spend a day at home is when I started full time work as a doctor.

Ate loads of burgers to help me adjust to this new life change.

Went apple-picking in the town of Orange, where my friend moved for work.

Did too much of this.

Also spent way too much money on brunch.

In winter I made it to Everglades garden in Leura, a total hidden gem.

Managed to squeeze in a bit of travel to Moscow, St Petersburg, Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest.

In October I voluntarily caused further upheaval in my life by moving out of home into a place by myself. Since then, my life has been like an episode of Man vs Wild: First World Problems.

2017 has been an interesting year. I feel like I've made progress but regressed at the same time. I've almost made it through my first year as a doctor, but I've got no idea what to do with the rest of my life. I moved out of home, but I can barely keep myself physically alive. I've kept in touch with old friends and made some new ones, but I've let all my interests, like reading and exercise and writing this blog, fall by the wayside. Hopefully I'll manage to recalibrate in the new year.

Hope everyone's having a great holiday season, and see you in 2018!
